“Forgotten” vs “Unsupported”

East Village film-maker Ethan Minsker recently asked me a few questions for his zine on the theme of “obsolete technology.” Ethan Minsker: What is the importance of maintaining and using forgotten technologies?   A: We have forgotten the technology that built Stonehenge or Pumapunku, which is why they are mysterious.

ABOUT THIS SITE

Once upon a time, my friend Julie and I decided that if we were going to go to openings for free wine, we should also write about what we saw. Most of these writings took the form of letters, to each other and a few friends. Sometimes they appeared on our blogger page. I got into the habit and started writing about experimental music performances in Brooklyn. When Julie and I ended our old blog, I started this blog, with high hopes.

There are few entries after 2016. I am picking it up again, September 2021, because I do not want to use a flash drive, and blogging still feels like the easiest way to share a group of links.
