Ban the Bomb!

35 years ago this month, more than a million people took to the streets of New York to say no to the madness of nuclear weapons. I firmly believe that I am alive and you are alive because human beings came together that day and transformed the reality of our planet.

This weekend in New York City, a group aptly named “Reaching Critical Will” is coordinating a  Women’s March to Ban the Bomb to support and ensure that we will once and for all eliminate nuclear weapons from this planet:

The Women’s March to Ban the Bomb is a women-led initiative building on the momentum of movements at the forefront of the resistance, including the Women’s March on Washington. It will bring together people of all genders, sexual orientations, ages, races, abilities, nationalities, cultures, faiths, political affiliations and backgrounds to march and rally at 12 PM – 3PM Saturday, June 17th 2017 in New York City!

The Women’s March to Ban the Bomb is led by the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), in partnership with ICAN, PeaceAction NYS and many other  peace and social justice organizations. People of all genders, sexual orientations, ages, races, abilities, cultures, political affiliations are called to stand together.
